关于参加2018年美国圣约翰大学暑期项目的报名通知

圣约翰大学位于美国纽约州纽约市皇后区，该校创立于1870年，是一所拥有国际声誉的大学，也是纽约州主要的私立大学之一。其严格的学术项目，一流的师资队伍，让人为之骄傲的运动传统和极好的实习机会吸引着美国各州和世界各地的学子前往该校就读。圣约翰大学的医药学院在全美名列前茅。圣约翰大学也被《华尔街日报》评为100所“最可能在学生的事业和工作上提供帮助”的学校之一。
为了让更多的学生有海外学习交流的经历，提高学生的英语水平，加强学生对药理学、化学、以及艺术方面的学习和了解，2018年我校拟开展与美国圣约翰大学暑期项目。内容如下：
一、项目名称：2018年美国圣约翰大学暑期项目。
二、项目地点：美国纽约市。
三、项目时间：2018年7月23日—2018年8月17日。
四、申请条件：
1.我校2015级、2016级、2017级本科生，2016级和2017级研究生；
2.遵纪守法，维护国家形象和学校声誉。遵守华南农业大学相关规定，服从华南农业大学统一管理，严格按照学校规定的时间派出及返校；
3.身心健康，具有较强的独立生活能力和社会适应能力；
4.英语听说读写具有一定基础，能适应全英文授课。
五、报名时间：截止到2018年4月13日。
六、项目内容：
暑期项目分为四个方向，学生从中选择一个进行修读。
1. Introduction to Pharmacology
PHS 3509 is an introductory course, which aims to provide comprehensive exposure to the principles of pharmacology. This course is suitable for students of medicine, pharmaceutics and veterinary medicine.（项目内容请见附件1）
2. Pharmacy Program
In this course, faculty from St. John’s University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will lead labs, workshops and lectures covering all facets of the Pharmacy industry, from laboratory practice to regulatory oversight. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in site visits and will learn about varied career options. （项目内容请见附件2）
3. Chemical Separation Science and Techniques
This course focus on the widely used separation fundamental principles and special techniques of extraction, chromatography, electrophoresis, membrane separation and field flow fractionation.（项目内容请见附件3）
4.Art program（Watercolor or Drawing for Illustration）
It is a multi-faceted, full-service program that balances traditional academic studio art experiences with less conventional learning outside of the classroom, through interactions with student guides and art professionals. The guides introduce participants to some of the many historical and cultural sites and events available in New York City, providing opportunities for cultural exchange and language practice. The art professionals will provide museum and gallery tours, providing opprotunities for expanded research.（项目内容请见附件4）
七、项目费用：
1. Introduction to Pharmacology（1-4人：5134美元/人，5-9人：4994美元/人，10-19人：4855美元/人）；
2. Pharmacy Program（3800美元/人）；
3. Chemical Separation Science and Techniques（1-4人：5909美元/人，5-9人：5700美元/人，10-19人：5491美元/人）；
4.Art program（10人：4540美元/人，11-19人：4128美元/人，请见附件5）。
包括：课程费、住宿费、早餐费、纽约市公共交通卡、项目方安排的参观费、美国机场接送费。不包括：往返机票、签证、午晚餐、保险、以及个人消费。
八、申请材料
1.《华南农业大学假期项目申请表》1份（附件4），院系签字盖章；
2.《学生家长声明》1份（附件5）；
3.家长身份证复印件1份（家长签名）。
